It's never
to early to plan a good ride!
Austin, Texas Spring Training
Camp
March 13 - 21, 2010
EIGHT DAYS OF CYCLING SEASON PREPARATION
AND TEXAS
HOSPITALITY!
An open, interactive
bicycle training camp
and Texas culture mini-vacation for adult
cyclists.
One of the most enjoyable parts of riding and racing a bicycle
is enjoying the fresh air, nice weather and the scenery of the open
road. Unfortunately in the Midwest we have something called
winter, which can make us forget the joy of cycling. March is a
time that finds many dedicated athletes doing almost anything but
riding outside.

At Smart Cycling Bike Shop we have a way of temporarily
defeating the winter. It is our annual
Austin, Texas training
camp. A chance to get away from the cold of winter and remember
the fun of riding your bike.
Our training camp takes the athletes on a variety of open roads
with challenging terrain and good pavement. The Texas countryside
provides a beautiful backdrop for full days of pre-season training.
This is not a 'hammerfest', but a chance to get in lots of
riding at a challenging pace.
The weather is usually between 60 and 70 degrees. A very pleasant change from the
usual 20 degrees of the Chicagoland area. We schedule our camp
to get our athletes race ready for the upcoming season which is just
around the corner.

Annual Weather Conditions for
Austin,
Texas
Average Temperature for March: 55/61 degrees
Average Rainfall for March: 2.1/1.5 Inches
Warm weather and good roads seem to make every cyclist happy. We
plan a daily routine of challenging riding with the added
benefit of good company. If you have some personal goals you are
working on for the 2010 season, we will make sure we address those on our
training
rides.
The 2010 Smart Cycling Bike Shop training camp in Austin, Texas
is in the finishing stages of planning. If you are interested in
getting away from the cold and boredom of winter, join us for
eight days of fun, challenging training in Texas.
Although many of our campers race, this is
not a race training camp
where athletes are worked to exhaustion every day. While we
do provide a challenge to our athletes, we do so on a level equal
to each athlete's abilities. Daily activities include skill
drills, riding, coaching help and daily reviews of the athletes
performance.
We also take advantage of the wonderful hospitality of the
people and city of Austin, Texas. At the end of each day's
training we relax at one of
Austin's many restaurants, clubs or
points of interest. The food, music and entertainment of the
area is famous for variety and fun.
The city itself is filled
with history and stories that make the camp more than just a
week of bike rides. The last 3 days of this year's camp occur during the
famous South by Southwest Music Festival. We will be sure to
take advantage of the celebration.

If you are interested in being part of the 2010 Smart Cycling
Bike Shop training camp, e-mail or call us today. We will be
happy to answer any questions you have and send you complete
information.
Cost for 8 days of warm Texas training is $1,200.00. The package includes
round trip airfare, hotel, coaching, bike maintenance, ride support and transportation in Austin. Campers
will be responsible for the shipment of their bicycles. A 50%
deposit is required to reserve your spot for the camp. Deadline
for registration is close of business (6:00 PM) Friday February
19, 2010.
