U.S. Paralympics and Paralyzed Veterans of America Partner to Create Handcycling Program for Injured Military

U.S. Paralympics, a division of the U.S. Olympic Committee, and the Paralyzed Veterans of America (PVA) have announced an expansion of their partnership to enhance local sports programming to assist in the rehabilitation process for injured service men and women. The programs will focus on the sport of handcycling by providing ongoing programs for interested participants in four cities across the U.S.: Chicago, San Antonio, San Diego and Washington, D.C. Our Team Needs More Juniors!

Our Smart Cycling Juniors have started their racing season with a trip to the Hillsboro-Roubaix Road Race. Check out their results! Plans this year call for plenty of road racing, criteriums, time trials and of course track racing. If you think the sport of bike racing or just serious fitness cycling is for you, consider joining the Smart Cycling Bike Shop Junior Development Team!

Are Brian Arfmann and Emil Klosowiak trading in their road bikes for handcycles? Sam Gabuzzi was also on hand in Chicago, with Emil and Brian to help teach new athletes with disabilities how to get into the sport of cycling. We will keep you posted on Paralympic events as they come up.
